i want him to be able to track well by giving him something to sniff and then he goes and finds the thing or person that has that sent...like on the movies....i also want him to hunt big game is that possible, he is already seven months old.
what i mean is big game like deer, moose, racoon, and things like that. nothing dangrous like lions, maybe tracking bear but not getting close

I suggest taking him to lessons, that should help the problem.

your dog may be trainable to hunt but because it is half german shepard it would be a great herding dog,but if your pup knows your the boss you can train it to hunt and do anything

Hunting big game with a dog is a good way to get it killed.Preadators almost always go for the weakest target.Unless you are also walking around a duck,a dog is just bait.

I don't think killing large game is a great idea for your dogs health. Training it to find people is a matter of very dedicated training

I don't know the laws for all the states but I think the only things you can legally hunt with dogs are mountain lions, birds and deer in a few states. I don't think people generally use German Shepherds. And they just use the dog to flush out the animals so it can be shot or to retrieve birds. Anything else would be illegal.

It is time to start taking him to obedience classes.

If he is going to do any of the things you want him to do, like hunt and track, he needs to understand your requests. you need to learn how to request in ways that make sense to him.

It is unlikely you will ever be allowed to legally hunt moose with your wolfdog. Maybe wild pigs though.

it depends on the individual dog. I have hunted with hounds for a good bit of my life also bird dogs and used retrevers...I have seen dogs from great lines not hunt, and potlickers be great dogs. Let the dog determine what you hunt, I would think he might make a decent sighting /baying dog, just a guess though. He might make a decent sight hound for coyotes also (wolves go out of their way to kill them).
