just wondering since you can shoot a 45lc in a 454, with the 3 inch chamber of the new judge I wondered if you could do the same vise versa

It might... ONCE! And maybe your hand, a section of your face, probably an eye and some teeth, will follow your revolver to the ground. The 454 is an extremely powerful cartridge that, with all probability, can blow up your gun. Do not try it!

I thought it was chambered for 2 1/2" 410 shells
They might have changed it though...

So long as the overall length allows the cylinder to rotate, the gun would technically be able to shoot it - I would think.

    HOWEVER
The factory 454 is WAY too powerful for that particular gun (I don't believe the gun can handle full house 45lc loads either). If you reload it down to that of cowboy 45lc loads, it should be ok.

I suspect that if the 454 cartridge fit in the judge, it would blow the cylinder wall out, possibly taking a finger or two as a perminant reminder

I doubt it would chamber. Even thought he cylinder is long enough, the 45LC reamer does not cut deep enough for the 454 to headspace. You wouldn't be able to close the cylinder. If you did get them to go in the pressure would be too high for the cylinder and/or frame.
