I have shot bows for the better part of 45 years and have owned most of them at one time or another, And I'm here to tell you that the current bows of today are the best, fastest , smoothest , most accurate bows ever made. The best bow is the one that suits you the best. However, the cream of the crop at the present time is Hoyt , Matthews , and Bow-Tech. I have owned Matthews and am now shooting a Hoyt, but will likely buy a Bow-Tech General this summer- I just love bows and bow hunting. It has never been easier to make a choice of bows- almost all the archery shops will set the bow up for you and let you shoot it before you buy one.
When I first became serious about bow hunting I knew that I didn't have enough knowledge about bows and arrows to shoot effectively and there was no way to learn anything-- no magazines, no shops, no archery clubs and no one that bow hunted in my area- I read an article about a college professor that taught at a college in the north part of Louisiana, and one saturday morning I made a 3 hour drive and knocked on his door- it was the most interesting and informative visits I had ever had- the was elderly and shot the long bow- he had known and met and sometimes hunted with the old greats of the sport in his youth-Howard Hill. Fred Bear, Ben Lee., Ben Pearson. and a host of others. I killed my first bow killed deer that season after visiting with him-He provided me with the knowledge that I needed to be successful in the sport. How times have changed- you can find out on the net the information that it took be 45 years to find out. I seem to have gotten a little off track here- enjoy your bow and your bow hunting! |

Best bow is always the one that fits you. There really is no way to measure which bow is best. Hoyt might win more medals or trophies than others, just from the fact that they have more top shooters than other brands. The deeper the pocket the more top shooters they can sponsor, the better they look. I shoot a Hoyt myself and loving it, but the truth is, any of the top of the line bows out there will out shoot any man alive. So it all boils down to what you like, the feel of the bow and how the bow looks. if it looks good to you, you'll shoot good =]
