    The agates around the south lake were results of glasural retreat, while those on the west and north were deposit from advanceing.. [ if i remember corectly..]
    try looking in any of the morains sites, or gravel beds above the high water lines, or where slick bed rock dissapears under an eroading gravel filled hillside.
    Agates from that country are exceptionally beautiful. I wish i were going with ya..!!
    You DONT have to be ON the lake to find them.. they are disperssed for litterly hundreds of miles along the paths the glasures took.
